With a solid world-wide experience and with the presence of highly qualified personnel, SIMIC operates in different fields offering the client a complete series of products in the design, fabrication, testing and assembly of complex products such as:  pressure vessels, reactors, heat exchangers, vacuum vessels, cryogenic equipment and mechanical components with strict tolerances.

SIMIC offers safe and reliable activities through the design and manufacture of Pressure Vessels, Reactors, Separators, Scrubbers, Drums, Columns, Shell and Tubes Heat Exchangers, Sulphur Recovery Units.

Design and manufacturing are carried out according to international reference codes, performing FEM analysis where necessary.

SIMIC specializes in the manufacture of high-pressure equipment, with critical materials and large dimensions. All major activities are carried out in-house in our factories, with capacity to handle up to 2,000 tons in one piece from our workshop in Marghera, on the Adriatic Sea.

SIMIC can rely on a solid experience in the integration of complex systems, such as Skids and Packages, also produced in series, including mechanical, electrical, instrumental assembly and final testing.

SIMIC has experience and know-how in design and manufacturing of Steam Condensers, Steam Drums, Feed Water Heaters and Mechanical Components for power plants according to the most common design and manufacturing international codes. These are important components used to pre-heat water delivered to a steam generating boiler. Preheating the feed water reduces the irreversibility involved in steam generation and therefore improves the thermodynamic efficiency of the system.

SIMIC follows the most common design and manufacturing international codes with experience with a wide range of material including Carbon Steels, Stainless Steels, Alloys, Clad materials. All main manufacturing activities are done in house, including thermal design, finite element analysis and mechanical design.

Since 2004 SIMIC collaborates with ITER (International Thermonuclear Experimental Reactor), an international nuclear fusion research megaproject aimed to build a fusion reactor using a plasma magnetic confinement (Tokamak machine) in Cadarache, South of France. ITER is supported by 7 countries (Europe, Japan, Korea, China, India, Russia and USA) and intends to demonstrate the scientific and technological feasibility of fusion energy aimed to find an alternative clean and environmentally friendly energy source.

Thanks to its experience and know-how, SIMIC is a reliable partner in this challenge, having already produced several prototypes and strategic parts for the ITER Project and other projects regarding fusion.

SIMIC’s contribution to the ITER Project is one of the largest industrial contributions at the European level.

With a solid experience gained over the years, SIMIC design and manufacture a wide range of critical process equipment for Chemical, Petrochemical & Fertilizers industries necessary to convert natural resources such as crude oil, natural gas and minerals into products for a wide range of applications including ethylene, propylene, butadiene, methanol, ammonia, urea.

Over the last decade, Chemical, Petrochemical & Fertilizers plants have increased in size and complexity. SIMIC has the knowledge, the experience, the facilities, machineries and the human resources capable to meet the challenges involved in the construction of these complex facilities, whatever the scale and act as reliable partner for the construction of Methanol Converters, Ammonia Synthesis Converters, Urea Reactors, Urea Strippers, Carbamate Condenser, Hydrogen Vessels, Heavy Wall Separators & Vessels, Process Waste Heat Recovery Units.

In the middle of 1990’s, SIMIC had the opportunity to start the first cooperation with the major European research organizations by providing cryostats and vacuum vessels.

In this field, the relationship with CERN was born and developed throughout the years giving the Company the great opportunity to be massively involved in the manufacturing of some of the most important components for the LHC project and for which in 2004 SIMIC was awarded by CERN of the Golden Hadron, for its achievements in terms of Quality and Delivery of the 937 vacuum vessels for the LHC. This was a very important milestone in the growth of the Company.

Since almost 20 years SIMIC is playing an outstanding role in the supply of cryostats and vacuum equipment for an elite group of international companies and organizations, leading parts of today’s scientific research, SIMIC is at the cutting edge of Europe’s projects in this field.
