SIMIC has recently been awarded an important project for the fabrication of a Radial Plate Prototype for the ITER project. The ITER project is an international cooperation between Europe, Japan, China, Russia, USA, Korea and India and has the scope to study the feasibility of the Nuclear Fusion for the production of energy with commercial purposes. The Radial Plate prototype is a component in stainless steel welded and machined with very strict tolerances and with a very big size, 15 m length x 9 m width. This contract is for SIMIC a big challenge and a real opportunity to participate to the fabrication of the series production, consisting of over 70 Radial Plates, besides other parts of the ITER project.
