Company
Since 1977 SIMIC has been a diversified Italian company with solid experience in the design and production of high-quality critical process equipment, maintenance and assembly of industrial plants.
By virtue of continuous investment in machineries, human resources and facilities SIMIC operates in different fields offering the clients a complete series of products and services for satisfying their needs.
SIMIC is an international Company with operative units, site facilities and human resources in several countries, equipped with the latest generation numerical controlled machines and high technology processes.
SIMIC was established by Giuseppe Ginola and Ferruccio Boveri. The Company was initially oriented to the market of light carpentry and on-site industrial plant installations and maintenance.
The company took a new legal form and started to focus on the heavy carpentry and manufacturing of pressure equipment and heat exchangers, while the on-site industrial plant installation and maintenance activity was grawing in parallel.
The company developed a well-equipped welding and machining department, today endowed with numerical control machinery of latest generation for the manufacturing of large size pieces with very tight tolerances.
Around these years SIMIC made the carpentry for the Memory, Information and Time Towers in occasion of the Football World Cup in Naples, Italy.
The Company started to manufacture Cryostats and Vacuum Vessels for the research field, playing an outstanding role for an elite group of international companies and organizations, leading parts of today’s scientific research.
SIMIC received the GOLDEN HADRON AWARD by the European Organization for Nuclear Research (CERN) for the manufacturing of the Vacuum Vessels that provide the thermal insulation for the superconducting dipole magnets of LHC Project in Switzerland.
SIMIC starts to work in Fusion, through a cooperation with the International Thermonuclear Experimental Reactor (ITER) Project for the manufacturing of a fusion reactor using a plasma magnetic confinement (Tokamak machine) in Cadarache, France.
Since 2006 SIMIC starts to manufacture important prototypes such as Vacuum Vessel Prototype, Cassette Body, Dome Liner, Inner Vertical Target, Outer Vertical Target of the Iter Divertor, Radial Plates prototype.
SIMIC built a new high capacity workshop in the sea front of Marghera (Venice) for the production of large size equipment (up to 2000 tons of weight one single piece). The workshop is suitable to manufacture giant components for several fields, including Oil&Gas, Fusion and Nuclear.
During this year SIMIC installed two very large plants in the food industry, in Turkey and in Mexico, taking care of all mechanical, instrumental and electrical works. The installation activity of the company starts to be international.
SIMIC made further investments with the installation of 2 milling and boring portal machines built to the highest standards: one was installed in the Camerana workshop and the second in the Marghera workshop. The latter is among the largest machines in Europe. These investments represent a further step in continuous growth.
SIMIC was selected to supply 10 out of a total of 18 Toroidal Field Coils in the ITER project. The first of these TF Coils was successfully shipped in 2020 to Cadarache, France. This contract represents an important milestone for SIMIC's growth.
With the successful completion of Radial Plate project, SIMIC is among the leaders of complex components worldwide. The collaboration with ITER continues successfully over the years.
Important collaboration agreement signed with Air Liquide company for the production of Turbo Brayton skid modules, signs the beginning of a long-lasting collaboration.
Acquisition of company Ettore Zanon, giving birth to ZANON Research & Innovation, a company specializing in ultra-high vacuum equipment for Research applications and Big science Projects.
Decision to invest in a new facility in Porto Marghera, in an area on the sea port with direct access to the sea. The facility will be dedicated to advanced manufacturing in Nuclear, Fusion and High technology markets.
Thanks to its long-term and valuable contribution to the manufacturing of the Toroidal Field Magnets of ITER Tokamak, SIMIC was invited to the TF COIL Completion Ceremony organized by the ITER in Cadarache, France. SIMIC was awarded with a Recognition prize, which we were honored to receive. The award is dedicated to all SIMIC staff that worked constantly through this long journey, giving the best of themselves, collaborating with passion and professionalism. A big thanks goes to all of them and also to the F4E teams for the outstanding collaboration to achieve one same and common objective: to deliver top quality components for ITER project and bring our contribution to achieve sustainable fusion energy.
Giuseppe Ginola and Ferruccio Boveri continue to manage the company successfully, supported by the sons and grandchildren, aiming to reach even more ambitious goals and ensuring that the company inspiration and motivation are still the same of the beginning and the Company structure is based on solid family values.
For around five decades SIMIC has fed his growth by means of continuous investments in new technologies and dynamic and specialized personnel that, coupled with a tightly structured and flexible organization, is the true core value and supporting strength of our company.
High quality, respect and consideration of our customers which are always at the centre of our strategies, the reduction of an environmental footprint, the increase of product competitiveness, the research and development of new market.
SIMIC is committed to provide a safe working environment and the necessary training to all employees to ensure that the safety compliance is a priority within the company. We recognize top importance to the Health, Safety and Environmental issues and our strategy is oriented to a continuous improvement.
Our approach to the environmental awareness consists in operating as efficiently as possible, by minimizing any type of waste and by disposing of it according to the applicable laws and regulations.
We continuously strive to improve our environmental performance and to this concern we have implemented a large investment in new solar and wind plants, with a production of ecological energy for our own use and for the sale of 60 MW installed capacity, others green energy plants are under construction and our pipeline is 250 MW.
All renewable energy plants are fully owned, developed and built by SIMIC. These plants, working since 2010, represents our own contribution to the production of green energy, minimizing the impact of our work on the precious environment we leave in. SIMIC is today certified ISO 45001:2018 and ISO 14001:2015.
