On 25 June 2026, during the France–Italy Economic Forum in Le Cannet (France), SIMIC officially signed the Declaration of Interest for the NUWARD Small Modular Reactor (SMR) Project.
The Forum, dedicated to strengthening industrial and economic cooperation between France and Italy, was attended by Emmanuel Macron, Giorgia Meloni, and senior representatives of both Governments, confirming the growing strategic cooperation between the two countries in the nuclear sector.
With this signature, SIMIC joins NUWARD, EDF, Edison, AIPE, ATB Riva Calzoni, Saipem, Tectubi Raccordi, Walter Tosto and Webuild in supporting the development of Europe’s next generation of Small Modular Reactor (SMR) technology.
