We are thrilled to announce that SIMIC has successfully completed the production of the first two units of toroidal field (TF) coil cases, which will power the SPARC fusion device.
The units were shipped from our workshops in Venice and Camerana on December 10th, with destination Commonwealth Fusion Systems headquarters in Devens, Massachusetts, USA.
In just 15 months, we’ve overcome technical challenges, designed special tools and delivered the first two units. We’ve also set up a full production line across multiple parallel processes to manufacture an additional 24 units, for which the production is in progress.
These TF coil cases are a critical component for the fusion tokamak being developed by Commonwealth Fusion Systems, the world’s largest privately funded fusion energy company.
As the SPARC fusion facility takes shape in Devens, Massachusetts, SIMIC is proud to be the main supplier of key components, playing a part in the race for clean, sustainable fusion energy.
Huge thanks to CFS and SIMIC team, for the awesome teamwork, let’s continue to achieve great things together!”
Stay tuned—an incredible team is working tirelessly to reach the target!
